As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text is devoid of any features that might identify the author. The first and last name does not appear anywhere in the text or its metadata (please clear the metadata in the Properties of the file).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The volume, including spaces, bibliography and footnotes, does not exceed the one presented in the Author Guildelines.
  • In case of attaching image files, it is required to provide the licenses and official permissions to use these files. Please note that visual material should be delivered in high resolution (300 dpi - formats: .tiff, .png, etc.).
  • The text should include the keywords and the accompanying bibliography.
  • For the text to be accepted, the author must fill in all fields of the online form containing the metadata.


 

Important information:

• “Loci Communes” is a peer-reviewed journal available on the basis of Open Access rules related to the Institute of Culture Studies of the University of Silesia and published by the Publishing House of the University of Silesia.

• The journal is being published bi-annualy. “Loci Communes”' Editorial Board invites manuscripts on a constant basis.

 The Editorial Board invites texts in English and, in particularly justified cases, other congress languages.

• The journal does not require any fees for publishing the article.

• The text is made available in accordance with the Open Access Gold formula and under the Creative Commons license Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0).

The authors are asked to make sure that the entries comply with the APA Style.

• Any manuscript not prepared in accordance with the instructions will be returned to the authors immediately.

• The editorial office reserves the right to make certain modifications to the manuscript without affecting the content of the study. The editors reserve the right to reprint the text in anniversary and special issues.

• The editor gives anonymous reviews to the author with a decision whether the article has been accepted unconditionally for publication, accepted, but requires some corrections or is rejected. The author should respond to the review in writing, in an appropriate statement, to be downloaded on the journal's website, and introduce amendments, which are approved by the editor accepting the article. The author shall send the relevant statements and a final version of the article with all personal data to the Secretary's address.
