FOCUS AND SCOPE

“Studia Pastoralne” journal has been published regularly since 2005. A suitable circumstance to publish “Studia Pastoralne” for the first time was the 40th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council (1962–1965), celebrated in 2005. Its rich theological and pastoral inspirations keep provoking a creative research attitude meant to discover the essence of conciliar teaching and develop, in light of the Council, theology in the context of the contemporary “signs of the times”. In particular, it is about branches of theology that, apart from their strictly scientific qualities, are characterised by a practical dimension. The fields of theology at stake are: pastoral theology, liturgics, homiletics, catechetics, missiology, and Christian spirituality. Theological and pastoral domains defined by these disciplines are the subject of “Studia Pastoralne”. The journal is an open forum that guarantees free and deepened exchange of theological thought and pastoral experience, which we can share with one another and support the Church in the realisation of her mission in a specific historical time and real socio-cultural circumstances. The journal is meant primarily for Polish readers, although it highlights experience of foreign authors, too.

The editors-in-chief of the journal have been: Andrzej Żądło (2005-2014), Bogdan Biela (2015-2025).

It is composed of the following sections: Articles, Materials, Reviews and Overviews, Reports. The journal can be found in the following data bases: The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (CEJSH) – summaries; The Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL) – full versions of texts, ICI Journals Master List. Arianta, PBN (Polish Scientific Bibliography), EBNT (Electronic Bibliography of Theological Sciences). Pastoral Studies (on-line) has been registered in the international system of information about serial publications and marked with the symbol: ISSN 2956-624X. The journal is available on-line and in the paper version, which is sent to several dozen libraries in Poland.
