We are pleased to announce a Call for Papers for the next issue of the Folia Philosophica, an international peer- and blind-reviewed journal, which is edited and published semi-annually at the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland.

Natural philosophy and natural history constitute two traditional and widely represented areas of philosophical inquiry from the very beginnings of the field in the ancient world, at least until the scientific revolution and the deepening specialization of the modern disciplines that came in the following centuries. The aim of this special issue of the journal Folia Philosophica is to give space to scholars focusing on those areas, whether from the perspective of the history of philosophy or the history of premodern sciences (e.g. a selected author, work, broader theme or problem) or from the perspective of a special discipline (botany, zoology, meteorology, astronomy etc.), and to contribute to the knowledge of the historical development of natural philosophy and natural history in their distinctive as well as their interdependent ways. 

Formal requirements 

The main requirements for the submission are the high quality and originality of the papers. Submissions are accepted in English. The articles should not exceed the length of 40,000 characters and should conform to the specific guidelines provided on our website http://www.journals.us.edu.pl/index.php/FOLIA/about/submissions#onlineSubmissions. 

You are welcome to send us either electronic copy of your paper. The Deadline for online submissions is Tuesday, March 31st 2026. We aim to give the authors our decision within three months.
