PEER REVIEW

All academic texts published in Romanica Silesiana undergo double selection: first, at the stage of submission, the text may be rejected by the Editors in case of its non-compliance with the guidelines for the preparation or non-compliance with the topic of the issue, and then at the stage of review. Each publication is evaluated by at least two independent Peer Reviewers who are not members of the Editorial Team of Romanica Silesiana, and whose university affiliation is different from that of an Author. Polish as well as foreign experts in the field of literary studies and translation (depending on the content of the issue) are invited to review the texts. Evaluation is in accordance with the principle of double blind review process, which guarantees non-disclosure of the identity of the Author and the Reviewer to each other, and with adherence to the principles of publishing ethics based on the Code of Conduct of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The selection of manuscripts and the application of the principle of "double blind review process" are the means to acquire the best quality research papers for each issue.

In case of two extremely different reviews (one positive, one negative), Editors invite a third Referee (in accordance with the principle of double-blind review) and, depending on his review, decide whether to publish or reject the text.

The scoring requirements for academic journals assume publication of the list of Reviewers, but, owing to the principle of "double blind review process", this takes place only after the issue has been published.

If an Editor of a volume (the Editor-in-Chief or thematic Editor) is among the Authors, he is excluded from the review process of his own text (selection and contact with the Reviewer). The Editorial duties in the reviewing process of his text are undertaken by a colleague from the Editorial Team or a member of the Academic Committee.

The review form along with the evaluation criteria is available to the public on the journal's website.
