Abstract

The article deals with the problem of the family and the interpersonal relations in the families of the Kasrilovka Jews and Permyans community of Podlipnaya. The problem is widely treated and it comprises mainly children and the attitude towards them but it also touches the late relatives, close and distant relatives living far away and the marital relations. The analysis of the literary texts shows two repeatedly different portrayals of intra-familiar human relations, especially with regard to children. According to the author of this paper this polarity is the result of (among other things) the strong setting of the Kasrilovka dwellers in the religious and cultural tradition of Judaism and the lack of similar settings in the dwellers of Podlipnaya.
