Text formatting

Times New Roman, font size: 12 points, 1,5 line spacing.
Paragraph indent: 1.25 cm; justification: left and right.
Article title: maximum 120 characters including spaces.
Subsection headers: maximum 70 characters including spaces; headers unnumbered.
Quotations: double quotation marks: “Text”¹.
In-text quotations: maximum three lines — double quotation marks.
Quotations within in-text quotations: single quotation marks (“Text ‘text’ text”).
Special use of words: double quotation marks or italics (“Text” or Text).
Emphasis: only italics (not: spaced, not: bold).
Ellipsis: […]
Titles in the article are supposed to be written in cursive without the quotation marks.
Footnotes are supposed to be at the bottom of the page, and their numbering is supposed to be continuous for the entire text (use “the insert — footnote function”).
There shouldn’t be any footnotes for the titles and subtitles.

Footnotes need to be prepared as follows:

1. A book — Name Surname of the author, Title, trans. Name Surname of the translator, Publisher, Place of publication and year of publication, pages.

1. A chapter in a collective volume: Name Surname of the author, Title of the chapter, in: Name Surname of the editor(s) (ed.) or (eds.), Title of the collection, Publisher, Place of publication and year of publication, pages.

1. An article in a periodical: Name Surname of the author, Title of the article, “Title of the periodical” and year, volume, pages.

1. An online article, an online forum entry, an online periodical article: Name Surname of the author, Title of the article, “Title of the periodical” and year, volume, pages.

Each text must be appended with one-paragraph abstracts in Russian
and Polish (including titles and keywords in both languages), abstract — max.
1000 characters (including spaces).

Keywords — max 90 characters including spaces.

Language standards
Submissions, including abstracts, must meet the world-wide standards of academic English (educated native speaker proficiency level).

The Editors reserve the right to introduce modifications that would not affect the merit of the study to the texts submitted to Iudaica Russica. Incomplete submissions, or submissions missing metadata will be rejected.

Transliteration of non-Latin scripts guidelines

Authors are asked to transliterate non-Latin scripts into Latin script in accordance with the BGN-PCGN standard: https://www.ushuaia.pl/transliterate. The works cited in footnotes in their original non-Latin scripts shall be listed in attached bibliography at the end of the text as following:

An example of transliteration of non-Latin script reference in the attached bibliography at the end of the text (transliteration + the original reference in square brackets):

The references in Latin-Script in the original text (e.g. in Polish, English, German) shall not be transliterated into Cyryllic script in Russian texts.
