Instructions for the Authors

General information

Materials submitted for publication in Problemy Prawa Prywatnego Międzynarodowego must constitute original, not yet published scholarly work. Authors are required to submit a declaration to that effect. Neither the Editorial Board nor the publisher charge any fees for the publication of materials or for their submission for editorial processing and review.

The authors are obliged to indicate sources of funding received for the research and publication of the paper submitted to the Journal, if any (e.g. public or private funds, grants from scientific and research institutions, associations or commercial entities). In principle, it is up to the authors to decide whether this information should remain privy to the editors of the journal or be disclosed to the public. However, the editors reserve a right to condition the publication of the paper on the public disclosure of the source of funding.

All papers published in the Journal are subject to anonymous peer-review by two independent reviewers in the so-called double-blind peer review system (see more here). After receiving the reviews, the editors may decide to reject the text, require corrections or accept the paper for publication. The final decision to accept the material for publication in each case rests with the editors and depends on the academic quality of the paper, its significance for theory and legal practice, as well as the originality of the work. An important criterion is also the subject matter undertaken by the author and its compatibility with the profile of the Journal. The editors make public the editorial workflow chart (see here).

Authors are required to comply with generally applicable laws and the ethical principles applicable in academia, in particular anti-plagiarism, self-plagiarism, ghostwriting, and guest authorship policies (see more here). The editors of Problemy Prawa Prywatnego Międzynarodowego track all manifestations of copyright and ethical violations and academic dishonesty. In appropriate cases, the editors shall notify the relevant institutions or state authorities.

The editors of the Journal reserve the right to make abbreviations, as well as stylistic, linguistic and punctuation corrections. Materials not ordered will not be returned.
