W jakim sensie język jest determinowany przez kulturę? O przedmiocie i ograniczeniach lingwo-kulturologii (I)

Przedmiotem artykułu jest determinacja kulturowa systemu języka oraz działalności językowej. Autor przedstawia programowe założenia współczesnej lingwokulturologii (etnolingwistyki) oraz poddaje je analizie krytycznej, szczególnie zwracając uwagę na stosowany przez etnolingwistów uproszczony, jednowymiarowy model kultury, oparty na werbocentryzmie. Autor pokazuje konfrontację różnych źródeł przy eksplikacji tzw. językowego obrazu świata i bezzasadność badań w tym kierunku. powołując się na socjologię wiedzy (w wersji Petera Bergera i Thomasa Lukmana), a także na teorię „niewidzialnej ręki” rudi kellera, autor przedstawia koncepcję zasady regulacji w relacjach między językiem/dyskursem a kulturą.

In what sense language is determined by culture? About the subject and limitations of the linguo-culturology (I)

The subject of this paper is the cultural determination of language and linguistic activity. the author presents program assumptions of the contemporary linguo-culturology (ethnolinguistics) and subjects them to critical analysis, that especially concerns a simplified, one-dimensional model of culture, based on verbocentrism used by ethnolinguists. the author shows that different sources of explication of the so-called language world view contrast one another and studies in this direction are unfounded and have no perspective. the author refers to the sociology of knowledge (peter Berger and thomas luckmann), as well as the rudi keller’s theory of the “invisible hand”. this is a basis of the concept proposed in the article of the regulating principle in the relations between language/discourse and culture.
