The manuscripts submitted to “Przegląd Rusycystyczny” must meet the journal’s scope (see the sections “Focus and scope” and “About the journal”). The authors shall choose the most suitable section for their manuscript (sections policy): Artykuły (research articles); Recenzje (reviews); Sprawozdania (conference reports); varia (notes, obituaries, letters and others).

After the corresponding author submits the paper via journal platform it is checked by the editorial team secretary against the journal’s Author Guidelines. Then, the paper is checked by the Editor-in-Chief or the editorial team members appointed by him (adequacy for the journal’s thematic profile and originality). The papers may be rejected at this stage without being reviewed by the external reviewers.

 We ask the authors to put to the file with their papers summaries  in English, Russian and Polish (with titles), ORCID numer, short biography of the author (ca 700 characters) and the e-mail address.

TEXT STRUCTURE AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. In the upper left corner, the full name and surname of the author written in Latin script; in the next line, please put the ORCID number according to the following pattern: ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0000-0000-0000, in the next (third) line, enter the author's place of work (university, faculty) in regular script, plain text;
2. The title of the article, aligned to the left, in Times New Roman font, font size 12 pt, spacing — 1,5.
3. Below the title, please place an abstract of the article in English together with the translated title (please place abstracts in Polish and Russian at the end of the article, after REFERENCES). In the next line, key words in English (Keywords:). Please use Times New Roman font for titles, abstracts and keywords, font size — 10 pts, spacing — 1. Please do not put a period after keywords.
4. Opening paragraph without indentation, others please indent (1 cm) by paragraph formatting (without using tab and/or space).
5. Text without double spaces.
6. Marigns — 2.5 cm each side.
7. Pages numbered in the bottom right-hand corner (option: Insert, Page number).
8. When writing in columns, do not use the Column option, but write in two-column tables with a hidden frame.
9. In-text titles and Latin phrases (e.g. sine qua non, de facto, a priori) – in italics without inverted commas.
10. Titles of journals and newspapers — in inverted commas (“Przegląd Rusycystyczny”) , in plain text (do not use italics).
11. The first time the title of the work under discussion is cited, the original title and the year of publication are given in brackets, e.g. Dmitry Bykov's Justification (Оправдание, 2001). For texts that do not have an English translation, we use the original variant of the title in the main text, and the first time the title appears, we give the year of publication in brackets and our own translation of the title in plain print, e.g. Yelena Katishonok Свет в окне (2014, Light in the Window).
12. Quotations longer than three lines should be quoted without the use of inverted commas, in plain script, and separated from the body of the text on both sides by an additional leading. In such separated quotations, please do not use paragraph indentation: Times New Roman, font size – 10 pt, spacing – 1.
13. Quotations shorter than three lines should be quoted in the main text in quotation marks, in straight print, preceded by a colon.
14. When referring to the same work more than once, a full footnote should be given only on the first quotation together with the following (or suitably modified) footnote formula: “All quotations from this novel are from the edition: XXXXXXXX and will bear the page number given in brackets”. Subsequent quotations from a given work are indicated by the page number given in brackets after the quoted text: (p. YY).
15. In order to abbreviate a quotation (to cut out a passage) use an ellipsis (Alt+0133) within square brackets [...]; an ellipsis is a separate character ¾ not three dots.
16. Hyphen (-): in compound forms (adjective: white-red; noun: man-horse), in double names (Kowalska-Nowak) NOTE: the hyphen appears without a space on either side.
17. The basic inverted comma is the so-called apostrophe inverted comma: “ ”. If we introduce an additional internal quotation mark (quotation in a quote), we use the so-called single definite inverted comma: ‘ ’.
18. En dash (–) Alt+0150 or Ctrl+- (hyphen) with numeric keypad: between numbers (1981–1988, May 2–7), in oppositions (body–soul, good–evil); the en dash should be used without spaces on either side.
19. Em dash (—) Alt+0151 or Ctrl+Alt+- (hyphen) from the numeric keypad; should be used with spaces on both sides.
20. In the main text, when the surname appears for the first time, it is given with the full name; when citing it again – only the surname (e.g. Jan Kowalski; hereinafter – Kowalski).
21. In the case of translated works, ALWAYS provide the translator's initials and surname in the bibliographic addresses (transl. J. Kowalska).
22. In the case of a reference to a work that has already been cited, we give the initials of the author's first name and surname, and after the comma the beginning of the title with a full stop (not with three dots), and after the comma the page number, followed by a full stop (e.g. J. Łotman, Zagadnienia przestrzeni artystycznej..., p. 215). If we refer to a work cited in a previous footnote, we refer with a note “Ibid., p. xxx”).
23. Do not use abbreviations such as Ibidem, Ibid., op. cit., etc. when citing a work by a previously cited author, refer to that author by the phrase “Idem (Eadem)”, and after a comma, give the title and other publication details.
24. Please do not add footnotes to titles and subtitles.
