Abstract: Safeness of the elderly people in the view of the fraud “as a grandchild” — as a socio-political problem
This paper is dedicated to the difficult to diagnose and reduce issues of the problems of frauds related to extortion money to the detriment of elderly people, committed by criminals who impersonate to be their family members or representatives of the police or the prosecutor’s office. The article discusses the methods of committing such offenses and determined the causes of becoming victims of such types of crime by the elderly as well as the diagnosis of the possibilities to reduce this type of crime through preventive measures. In the following, the paper briefly presents several of the important prevention and information programs aimed at potential victims. Moreover, author make an attempt to examine the effectiveness of the preventive actions and presents several examples of cooperation between the various institutions — government, local council and ecclesiastical.
