FOCUS AND SCOPE

"Studia Politicae Universitatis Silesiensis" ISSN 2353-9747 (electronic version) is a scientific journal of the Institute of Political Sciences of the University of Silesia in Katowice. It is a periodical with a political profile, in which a special emphasis is placed on public policy (Evidence Based Policy). We are interested in the forms and mechanisms of systemic solving of key social problems by the state in consultation with representatives of various interest groups, especially at the local and regional level. The editors of the journal will primarily prefer articles with an empirical dimension. In the first and second quarters of the year volumes in polish will appear, and in the third and fourth in other languages. The journal provides instant open access to its contents on the basis of free public access to support global knowledge exchange. Currently, it belongs to a group of magazines scored by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The scientific aim of the journal is to learn and explain the mechanisms of solving important socio-political problems, in particular on a local-regional scale. Subsequently, the magazine aims to diagnose how these analyzed mechanisms have a wider application value. In terms of the goal so constructed, we are particularly interested in:

  • exploring the theoretical layer of public policies with its practical implementation examples,
  • understanding the goals and activities of local and regional policy entities, also in the international context,
  • the way of creating models of public policies and their cyclical dimensions,
  • how the institutional dimension of the political system of a given state co-creates public policies,
  • communication processes in public policies, in particular on the science - policy makers line.
