The central aim of this text is to highlight the distinctive nature of Inga Iwasiów’s writing. The concept of ‘writing’ is taken in a broad sense, encompassing both academic texts and those belonging to the realm of belles-lettres, as well as the literary criticism and fiction produced by the scholar. Its inherent autobiographical nature is also highlighted. The strongest emphasis is placed on bringing out the characteristics of the vision constructed by Iwasiów, both of the history of literature created by women and of her original concept of feminist literary criticism, which has emerged as a consequence of this. A gender-sensitive reading approach translates into the fluidity of constantly updated methodological approaches, tailored to specific interpretative situations or the perspectives of the novel’s female protagonists and the subjects of her essays. The text also refers to the distinctive performativity of Iwasiów’s academic and literary activity, which can be characterised as a rich, constantly evolving constellation.
