Problemy Prawa Karnego is a peer-reviewed semiannual academic journal devoted to criminal law and related disciplines. Originally published from the early 1970s until 2005, the journal continues its scholarly activity in its current form as an open-access journal.
The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, and scholarly analyses in the fields of substantive criminal law, criminal procedure, executive criminal law, criminology, criminalistics, international criminal procedure, comparative criminal law and procedure, fiscal criminal law, petty offences law and procedure, Criminal Compliance, and interdisciplinary studies related to penal sciences.
The journal aims to provide a forum for discussion of contemporary issues in criminal law and criminal justice, including legislative developments, theoretical concepts, and practical aspects of the application of law. It is addressed to academics, researchers, judges, prosecutors, attorneys, legal advisers, and other legal practitioners.
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process conducted by independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject of the manuscript. The Editorial Board includes scholars representing Polish and international academic institutions.
The journal is published primarily in electronic form in Open Access. All content is distributed under a Creative Commons license. The journal does not charge any submission, article processing, or publication fees (no APCs).
