PEER REVIEW PROCESS | Problemy Prawa Karnego

Submission implies acceptance of the peer review process.
All manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening for:
- relevance to the journal scope,
- academic quality and originality,
- compliance with formal requirements.
Manuscripts passing screening are subject to double-blind peer review.
Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent external reviewers holding a PhD or equivalent qualification.
Reviewers are not affiliated with the author’s institution.
Reviewers are selected by the Editor-in-Chief or Editorial Board.
The review process is based on a standardized evaluation form.
The process ensures full anonymity of authors and reviewers.
Editorial decisions include:
- acceptance,
- revision required (minor or major),
- rejection.
In case of conflicting reviews, an additional independent reviewer may be appointed.
Authors must respond to reviewers’ comments.
The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief.
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting and final author approval.
Authors are responsible for the final content of their published work.
A list of reviewers is published annually on the journal’s website.
The typical time from submission to publication is 3–6 months.
