Submissions

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

  1. The content of the article should correspond to the scientific profile of the journal.
  2. Please follow the rules of text editing adopted for publications of the Faculty of Theology of the University of Silesia in Katowice.
  3. The scientific article delivered to the Editorial Board should be anonymised (any information allowing for the identification of the author should also be deleted in the properties of the submitted file).
  4. In addition to scientific articles, the Editorial Board accepts reviews, review articles, materials, bibliographies and reports for publishing.
  5. All materials submitted for publishing should be submitted to the Editorial Office in electronic form via the OJS platform:
  • The length of the article should not exceed 40,000 characters (including spaces).
  • The font of the text should be Times New Roman 12, double spaced.
  • The text should not contain default word breaks or any additional formatting (styles, headings, text breaks); it is allowed to write in italics (we mark the titles of works in footnotes in italics), bold text, and "superscript" (when it is necessary to mark the issue number).
  • The file format should be DOC, DOCX, ODT or RTF. In the case of texts containing non-Latin fonts or requiring special formatting, a PDF file should also be submitted.
  1. The following metadata should be attached to the article:
  • Author's data (name, surname, affiliation, ORCID, e-mail)
  • Title of the article in English
  • Abstract in Polish and English (the abstract should explain the research problem presented in the article and possibly indicate the results of the research; volume: approx. 500-1000 characters including spaces)
  • Key words in Polish and English (max. 5)
  • Attachment bibliography
  1. Author's proof:
  • Review stage:
    All articles submitted for publication are subject to the review procedure. In the case of positive reviews, but suggesting a need for some corrections, the texts are sent to the authors with a request to respond to the reviewers' comments.
  • Editing stage:
    The Editorial Team proposes to send proofs for the author's proofreading via the OJS platform. The corrections must be done within a week. Failure to reply within the deadline is considered the Author's resignation from the right to correct.

 

  1. The Editorial Team applies the ghostwritingand guest authorship barrier by taking the following steps:
  • Obliging for the authors of articles to disclose the contribution of other people in the creation of the publication by providing data on their affiliation and contribution, i.e. information on who is the author of the concept, assumptions, methods, protocol, etc. used in the preparation of the publication.
  • Obliging the authors of articles to disclose sources of research funding related to the submitted publication.
  • Declaring that information on detected cases of unreliable activities referred to herein will be forwarded to appropriate scientific and publishing institutions.
