Zoophilologica. Polish Journal of Animal Studies is the first and, hitherto, only scientific journal in Central and Eastern Europe devoted to cultural and social issues presented from the broad perspective of human-animal studies. The journal has been published annually since 2015 in the Open Journal Systems (OJS) service. It offers scientific, monographic and overview articles as well as reviews, book notes and reports written by researchers who examine the relationship between humans and animals as part of their activity in various disciplines of social and natural sciences as well as humanities.

Since the fifth edition, the information on the journal's website is fully published in two languages, Polish and English. We are currently in the process of updating the information in all the issues in both languages.

Since 2021, the journal is indexed in ERIH+ and DOAJ.

Since 2022, the journal is indexed in Scopus.
