Guidelines for text formatting (articles in Polish)

  1. The manuscript, summary, and bibliography should not exceed 40,000 characters including spaces.
  2. Documents should be submitted as doc, docx or rtf files (odt files are not accepted).
  3. Layout of the submission:
  • Full name of the author,
  • Affiliation (university or other institution),
  • ORCID ID,
  • Title in Polish,
  • Title in English,
  • Keywords in Polish (5),
  • Keywords in English (5),
  • Summary in Polish,
  • Summary in English.
  1. Text and footnotes format:
  • font: Times New Roman, 12 size font;
  • spacing: 1.5 lines;
  • in-text emphasis should be put in bold and followed by a comment in square brackets [emphasis – X.Y.];
  • short quotations should integrated in the main text and enclosed in double quotation marks;
  • quotations within quotations should be enclosed in guillemets (»…«);
  • consisting of four or more lines, longer quotations should be placed in an indented, free standing block of text (Times New Roman, 10 size font) preceded and followed by an empty line;
  • ellipsis in quotation should be marked with square brackets […];
  • use full names (Roman Zimand) throughout the text; for subsequent references, use last name (Zimand);
  • numbers should be written in full.

Footnotes:

  • font: Times New Roman, 10 size font;
  • spacing: single spacing;
  • annotated bibliography (sorted alphabetically, beginning with the last names, and then the first names of the authors; in case of more than one sources of the same author, they should be sorted chronologically, based on the dates of publication or translation).

  • Internet sources: Pluszka: Trzy klocki w puzzlach. Rozmowa z Piotrem Pazińskim.  https://www.dwutygodnik.com/artykul/6855-trzy-klocki-w-puzzlach.html[dostęp: 14.08.2018].
  • Articles in journals: Ładoń: Pacjent bada lekarza. „Kultura Współczesna” 2019, nr 4, s. 159.
  • Ranges, e.g. page range or date range, should be marked with an en dash (–) instead of a hyphen (-).
  • Initials should not be spaced (A.M. instead of A. M.).
  • For subsequent citations use shortened notes, e.g. Śmieja: Hegemonia i trauma…, s. 11.
  1. Each submission should include:
  • author’s biographical info, formatted as follows: John Doe – PhD, assistant professor at ………… . His research interests include …………… . He has published three books …………… He edited …………..;
  • summaries in Polish and English;
  • key words in Polish and English;
  • permission to print copyrighted material, for instance, images, photographs, charts, or graphs;
  • signed author’s statement: http://wydawnictwo.us.edu.pl/node/1941.
