In der christlichen Pädagogik bedeutet die Erziehung eine Stärkung und die Angabe einer Richtlinie für die Entwicklung der Person, sowie die Einführung in die Welt der Werte. Dies kann in einer Atmosphäre von Liebe und Wahrheit erfolgen. Die modernen Tendenzen in der Kultur, die sich Postmodernismus nennen dringen sowohl in das heutige Denken an die Erziehung, als auch in die erzieherische Praxis ein.
Der Postmodernismus erlaubt das Abweichen von traditionellen Werten und dem schöpferischen Konservatismus, welcher auf der Treue gegenüber Gott in Jesu Christi beruht. So ist der Kulturkontext der Evangelisationsmission der neunziger Jahre, welcher in der Katechese und der Seelsorge in Betracht gelogen werden sollte.
Damit die katholische Religion, zu der sich die Mehrheit der Polen bekennt eine bedeutende Rolle im Leben und eine Stütze bei ihrer Erziehung werden könnte, müßte sie in ihrem Bewußtsein als eine durchdachte, persönliche Auswahl zum Ausdruck kommen. In der Situation einer Gesellschaft, die dem Prozeß der Verweltlichung und dem Agnostizismus unterworfen ist, gewinnen solche Methoden der Verkündung der Erlösungsbotschaft an Bedeutung, die das Vorfeld des Glaubens entsprechend hervorheben und eine Art von Propädeutik der Evangelisation. Sozusagen eine Vorstufe der Katechese sind.
Beim Religionsunterricht in der Schule sollte mehr darauf geachtet werden Kinder und Jugendliche in der Pfarrgemeinde, die eine Glaubensgemeinschaft ist zu führen und dabei die liturgische und kirchliche Initiation zu betonen. Gleichzeitig sollten schon existierende Arbeitsformen unabhängig von der Katechese innerhalb fundamentaler Gemeinschaften, so wie katholischer Bewegungen und Vereine weiterhin entwickelt werden.
