À l'appui d'une analyse du contenu de trois publications périodiques: "Biblioteka Kaznodziejska", "Współczesna Ambona" et "Katecheta" — l'auteur s'efforce d'examiner le modèle du mariage et de la famille: le modèle propagé par l'Eglise en Pologne.
Ce problème est d'actualité. Dans notre société qui est apte à subir des mutations, le mariage et la famille passent des transformations et une certaine évolution. Divers groupes ou organismes examinent ce thème donnant matière à la réflexion.
L'article est présenté en quelques parties. D'abord, la préparation au mariage et tout ce que cela signifie: la maturité physiologique, morale, psychique, pédagogique, intellectuelle et professionelle. Ensuite, le saint caractère du mariage chrétien. Le mariage vient de Dieu. Il est le sacrement de la Nouvelle Alliance. C'est pourquoi l'indissolubilité du mariage apparaît comme une exigence éthique de l'amour conjugal et de la fidélité que cet amour suscite. Cette exigence peut être formulée en ces termes: le mariage ne peut pas être dissous. L'indissolubilité du mariage apparaît aussi comme une exigence de la foi chrétienne: le mariage enraciné dans le mystère de l'union indéfectible du Christ et de son Eglise ne peut pas être dissous.
L'aspect particulier et reconnaissable de la famille d'aujourd'hui: la famille est passée du type patriarcal au type conjugal, du type vivant en autarcie au type social, du type despotique au type démocratique. Les valeurs familiales essentielles persistent malgré le fait de la dispersion sociale de ses membres. La famille a trouvé sa spiritualité en lumière d'enseignement de l'Eglise; la famille a retrouvé le sens de la fécondité conjugale. L'Eglise est une "grande famille" et la famille comme une "petite Eglise". L'Eglise est la famille de Dieu, et la famille une patite cellule de l'Eglise, la cellule fondamentale de la société.
