Le travail professionnel comme expression de la foi du chrétien présent dans le monde

Abstract

Le travail professionnel, par lequel l'homme s'enracine dans le monde, ouvre devant le chrétien une voie, sur laquelle il peut rendre l'Église présente dans le monde. C'est pourquoi le Concile oblige les chrétiens à ce qu'il y ait accord entre leur foi et leur travail.
En participant à la foi de l'Église, le chrétien sait répondre par son travail à l'appel de Dieu à la profession et au progrès temporel pour le bien de la famille humaine. Le chrétien, qui travaille selon les exigences de l'Évangile, collabore à la consécration du monde. Ainsi il répond au dessin de Dieu, qui veut récapituler toutes choses dans le Christ. Cette récapitulation se fait déjà tous les jours quand le chrétien dans ses con- tacts professionnels avec les hommes rencontre en eux le Christ et le sert en eux. Une telle synthèse de la foi et du travail oblige le chrétien à être efficace dans son travail et consacre la dignité personnelle du tra- vailleur, si menacée par la rationalisation technocratique.
