As indicated in the title, the scientific journal "Wortfolge. Szyk Słów" (eng. The Word Order) is situated at the border between two disciplines: literary studies and linguistics.

The widely understood (post)borderland determines the main axis of critical reflection in the scientific articles published in the journal. In particular, it concerns literary, aesthetic, linguistic, didactic and methodological phenomena of a (post)border character, specific transitions between borders and the (non)possibility of delimiting them, as well as mental, metaphorical and verbal circulations in time and space, taking, for example, the form of transnational and interdisciplinary transfer of culture, thought, discourse and language. These problems are examined in relation to the language, literature and culture of the German and/or Polish language areas.

In a broader perspective, the journal also aims to constitute an open platform for the exchange of ideas between domestic and international researchers, as well as to promote an intra- and inter-cultural  border-related communication process.

The languages of the publication are German and Polish.

The journal is edited by a team of Germanists, experts in literary studies and linguistics. They are affiliated to the Institute of Literary Studies and the Institute of Linguistics at the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland).

There is no charge for publishing texts in the journal.
