Sažetak

This article attempts to give literary translations into non-native languages not only permission and acceptance but justification and theoretical legitimacy. While referring to Stefan Themerson’s postulates of semantic poetry, it explores his philosophy of language to focus on the possible independence of the translator.

doktor nauk humanistycznych, adiunkt w Instytucie Literatur Słowiańskich Uniwersytetu Śląskiego; literaturoznawczyni. Pracowała między innymi jako wykładowca w anglojęzycznym programie East and Central European Studies Wydziału Humanistycznego Uniwersytetu Karola. Tłumaczka języka czeskiego, laureatka nagrody czeskiego Stowarzyszenia Tłumaczy Literatury (Obec překladatelů) z roku 2013, członkini Zrzeszenia Tłumaczy Ustnych i Pisemnych (Jednota tlumočníků a překladatelů) oraz stypendystka Instytutu Książki (2015). Sporą część swej pracy badawczej poświęciła problematyce przestrzeni miejskiej, a jej zainteresowania kierują się na obszary, w których literatura spotyka się z antropologią i badaniami kulturowymi. Autorka dwóch monografii: Praskie przemiany. Sacrum i desakralizacja przestrzeni miejskiej Pragi (Kraków: Nomos 2006) oraz Kmitavá mozaika. Městský prostor a literární dílo (Praha: Pistorius a Olšanská 2011).
