The article is an attempt at analyzing a novel in verse Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin from a ritual and mythological perspective. It turns out that to a large extent the central themes have been conditioned by the structure of the initial myth. However, the initiation of the protagonist as a spiritually-integrated personality has occurred unsuccessful. The discussion of the mythological and archetypal issues regarding Tatyana is brought into special focus.
