Abstract

The article recalls „Ewangelik Górnośląski” - a Polish Lutheran magazine published in Katowice from 1932 to1939 by the Society of Polish Evangelicals in Upper Silesia. The weekly was the only Polish Lutheran magazine published in the interwar period in this area. The article, against the background of the situation in the United Evangelical Church in Upper Silesia, established in 1924, in Polish Upper Silesia, sheds light on the creators and editors of the weekly, primarily clergy, well-known Polish independence activists and their efforts in the magazine to awaken national awareness among local Lutherans. The editors' opposition to Anti-Semitism and their criticism of Hitler's actions deserve to be emphasized. Based on archival materials, the issues of financing the weekly, circulations and forms of promotion were also presented.
