Ich wollte durch komplexes das Erziehungswesen betreffendes Denkgebiet, das aus dem christlichen Glauben, den anthropologischen Wissenschaften, dem gesunden Menschenverstand und der realistischen Pädagogik fließt, darauf hinweisen, daß es beim Religionsunterricht unentbehrlich ist, sich ständig auf die richtige Werthierarchie zu berufen, den Sinn des Menschenlebens zu bestimmen, die Zöglinge zum Entdecken von Antworten zu führen nieht nur auf die Frage, was der Mensch ist, sondern auch auf die Frage, was der Mensch werden kann.
Die so realisierten katechetischen Aufgaben schalten sich in die geplante Reform des Bildungssystems der „Schule der Zukunft” ein. Das Model der personalistischexistenziellen Katechese stützt sieh auf drei fundamentale Grundsätze: die Konzeption des Menschen, die axiologischen Erziehungsgrundlagen und die integrale Methoden der Erfahrungsinterpretation und des pädagogischen Dialogs.
In der Katechese ist vor allem die Berufung auf Gott als allumfassendes Fundament nötig, auf jenes am meisten konkrete Beispiel, das uns in der Person Jesu gegeben wurde. An dem Erlösungswerk Christi teilnehmend sollen wir den Hauch einer anderen, übernatürlichen Wirklichkeit mit uns bringen und damit die Hoffnung, in dieser oft unmenschlichen Welt die Dinge in ihren richtigen Ausmaßen zu erblicken.
Der Religionsunterricht in den Schulen gehört heute in höherem Grad als je zu den wichtigsten Aufgaben der Kirche in Polen. Die Behandlung der Katechese als einer lästigen, zusätzlichen seelsorgerischen Tätigkeit ist ein Mißverständnis. In dem Bildungs- und Erziehungssystem der jungen Generation, die der Nation des überwiegend römisch-katholischen Bekenntnisses angehört, bildet der Religionsunterricht einen wichtigen Faktor im Werk universaler Edukation der ganzen Gesellschaft und ein wesentliches Element pluralisticher Kultur der heutigen Zivilisation.
