Silesian Historical and Theological Studies provides open access (OA) to its content in accordance with the principle that making research and its results freely available promotes the global exchange of knowledge.

In the course of its development, the journal changed its license from the more restrictive CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, which applied to issues published up to 2024, to the more open CC BY-SA 4.0, which has been in force for issues published since 2025.

In order to ensure consistent open access to all issues of the journal on the OJS platform, the Editorial Board of SSHT also provides access to earlier issues, thereby supporting the idea of open science.
