Abstract

The topic of the article is an attempt to answer the question: Why are translations into Kashubian made? The analysis draws upon the distinction between weak and strong languages. Translations into regional language are considered as a symbolic phenomenon; which is to contribute to the preservation of regional identity and the development of minority language and culture.

Autorka kaszubskojęzycznej monografii Interferencjowé przejinaczi w gôdce bilingwalny spòlëznë Kaszub (Procesy interferencyjne w mowie bilingwalnej społeczności Kaszub) oraz podręcznika Gramatika kaszëbsczégò jãzëka, będącego pierwszym normatywnym opracowaniem gramatycznym języka kaszubskiego. Prowadzi badania dotyczące historii kaszubszczyzny, normalizacji języka kaszubskiego, dialektologii kaszubskiej, bilingwizmu, społecznego funkcjonowania kaszubszczyzny, a także przekładoznawstwa. Tłumaczka języka kaszubskiego, m.in. przetłumaczyła dramat Ślub Gombrowicza na język kaszubski (2011), dramaty Lecha Bądkowskiego (2009), a też mniejsze teksty z języka polskiego, serbskiego, rosyjskiego i słoweńskiego. Członek Rady Języka Kaszubskiego.
