Abstract

The article is a reflection on the need to change contemporary stories, which has long been demanded by researchers applying the Anthropocene narrative. From the main article to the work of Donna Haraway or Anna Tsing, Ewa Bińczyk, Ewa Domańska and Małgorzata Sugiera, the author of the article argues that such a change is not only necessary, but possible. According to a Silesian researcher, the laboratory of a new language and stories alternative to traditional narratives should be enriched with practices of new readings of texts that are now included in canonical registers. A key role in reading that would overcome the stagnation of the Anthropocene would be the methodology of critical hope (Domańska) and active hope (Macy, Johnstone), allowing us to re-situate ourselves in closeness to the Earth and in alliance with its ecosystems.
