From “Theory and Practice of Polish Language Teaching”, no 31
Humanities education during climate crisis

We invite you to prepare papers for the 31st  “Theory and Practice of Polish Language Teaching”, which we would like to dedicate to reflection on humanities education during climate crisis.

The scope of the journal includes the following topics:

  • Green competencies, green writing, and green reading
  • Eco-glottodidactics
  • How to communicate about the climate crisis, proclimatic discourses
  • Searching for a language to talk about crisis and a biocentric perspective
  • New humanistic methodologies vs. climatic crisis
  • Climatic crisis as a challenge for humanistic education
  • School in times of the environmental destruction
  • Climate utopias and dystopias at school
  • Pop culture and eco-education in film
  • Sources of inspiration for environmental humanities
  • Out-of-school reading and contemporary climate challenges
  • New environmentally disobedient heroes,
  • New genres (cli-fi, environmental reportage) in school and academic Polish language studies
  • New sources of critical hope in times of crisis
  • Eco and biocentric approach in academic reflection
  • Ecology vs. axiology, bioethical revaluations
  • Climate crisis in lights of empirical research

We also provide a “varia” section in the issue.

We invite researchers and teachers of language and literature, teachers and glottodidactics to consider indicated problems and submit article proposals (working titles and short descriptions) until the 15th of February 2022. We gratefully acknowledge your applications to the issue. We are waiting for the texts to the end of April 2022.

The editors will judge submitted articles. The assessment of two independent viewers determines the final acceptance of publications (double-blind peer review).

The journal is included in the list of scientific journals of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland with 20 points assigned. The Journal is available worldwide via such aggregators as: ERIH Plus, Index Copernicus International, Central and Eastern European Online Library, Arianta, CEJSH. We are currently applying for access to the databases SCOPUS and DOAJ, which we hope will allow us to achieve higher scores soon.
