Leszek Małczak 

dr hab., associate professor in the Institute of Literary Studies at the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Silesia in Katowice, head of the Department of Theory of Literature and Translation 2016-2019; thematic editor of the journal “Przekłady Literatur Słowiańskich” (“Translations of Slavic Literatures”, editor-in-chief since 2017),  researcher of South Slavic literatures and cultures, his main field of interest is Croatian literature and culture, especially the phenomenon of regionalism, Croatian-Polish and Polish-Croatian cultural contacts, comparative literature and culture, history, theory and practice of translation. The author of three monographic books: Wiatr w literaturze chorwackiej. O figurze literackiej wiatru w XIX ‑ i XX ‑wiecznym piśmiennictwie chorwackim strefy śródziemnomorskiej / Wind in Croatian literature. The literary figure of wind in the 19th and 20th centuries Croatian writings of the Mediterranean zone (Poznań, Wydawnictwo Naukowe Uniwersytetu Adama Mickiewicza, 2004) i Croatica.
