In the next two issues (Volume 14 2025, Volume 15 2026), we are planning to publish selected translation studies articles fitting into the thematic profile of the journal, and delivered at conferences in the preparation of which the journal participates, namely from the Slavonic Studies Conference organized by the Silesian University in Katowice entitled. Panorama of 21st Century Slavic Studies and Research (2024), a cyclical translation studies conference organized by Silesian University in Katowice entitled Spaces of Translation (2024), and from the 2nd Congress of Polish Translation Studies (2025).
In addition, we are already opening three new topics and encourage you to submit articles, as we publish texts immediately. After the review process is completed, we proceed to the development of the text, which takes a maximum of 6 months. We then publish the article in the so-called early birds formula. This means that an article that fits into the theme of an issue planned for 2028, for example, can appear as early as 2025 as a stand-alone text, a maximum of 12 months after submission, as long as it does not require significant corrections and additions.
2027 Volume 16 - Translations of Slavic Literatures in 2021-2025.
This is the next bibliographic issue, which will include commentaries on the bibliography and articles devoted to works whose translations appeared in 2021-2025. Observation of the dynamics of literary and cultural life shows that the minimum period of appearance of translations, which allows us to grasp the current trends and tempt to diagnose the state of this sphere, should count several years. This time we choose to make such a reflection by taking into account the five-year period of appearance of new literary translations both from Slavic languages and into Slavic languages.
2028 Volume 17 - Translating War
In this issue we plan to address issues related to the translation of works in which war is an important theme or motif. In view of the fact that most often though fictional they deal with specific wars and conflicts in their translation there are many problems related to the different outlook and experiences of wars by individual nations, societies and communities. We invite you to submit texts on this as well as other problems that arise in the translation of literature on war.
2028 Volume 17 - Translating Crime
In the issue we plan to deal with the translation of crime literature. Crime novels have become one of the leading, best-selling and most frequently translated literary genres. Their translation raises a number of problems. Crimes, although they are universal - in the sense that the vast majority of acts bearing the hallmarks of crime are viewed similarly in different cultures - cultural differences can come into play when describing and committing them, and then responding to them, as well as the punishment that is prescribed for their commission. We invite you to submit texts on this as well as other problems that arise in the translation of criminal literature.
In addition, articles on topics other than the proposed ones can be submitted. They will be published in the Varia section.
