Romanica Silesiana stanowi forum dyskusji dla badaczy polskich i zagranicznych w dziedzinie literaturoznawstwa i przekładu literackiego. Założone z inicjatywy prof. Krzysztofa Jarosza w 2006 roku (redaktora naczelnego do roku 2017) jako rocznik, od 2018 roku czasopismo ukazuje się w trybie półrocznym. Każdy numer czasopisma skupia się wokół określonego przez redaktora tematycznego zagadnienia lub problemu w odniesieniu do literatur francusko- i hiszpańskojęzycznych oraz literatury włoskiej, nie ograniczając się jednak do wyżej wymienionych. Różnorodność tematyczna wzbogacona jest w ten sposób wielojęzycznością publikowanych artykułów.
Celem zespołu redakcyjnego czasopisma jest terminowe publikowanie najlepszych prac autorstwa cenionych badaczy z Polski i zagranicy. Wysoki poziom publikowanych artykułów zapewnia każdorazowy (w zależności od problematyki tekstu) dobór recenzentów z grona uznanych ekspertów w dziedzinie literaturoznawstwa, szczególnie z ośrodków zagranicznych. Dzięki najlepszym recenzentom i autorom czasopismo znajdzie się w renomowanym kręgu naukowym i na stałe wejdzie do obiegu naukowego. Kolejnym celem zespołu redakcyjnego jest poszerzanie Rady Redakcyjnej o wybitnych specjalistów o ugruntowanym prestiżu stale potwierdzanym liczbą artykułów i cytowań.
Stałym działem są "studia" (études), w ramach których, w zależności od numeru czasopisma, mogą zostać wyodrębnione grupy tematyczne. Wszystkie opublikowane artykuły są recenzowane.
Ponadto,mogą występować dwa dodatkowe działy: Recenzje opublikowanych pozycji krytycznych (Comptes rendus) oraz Varia (publikacje z tego działu również podlegają recenzji).
Publikacja artykułów w czasopiśmie jest nieodpłatna, a poszczególne numery są dostępne w formule Open Access.
Czasopismo jest współwłasnością Wydawnictwa Uniwersytetu Śląskiego oraz Stowarzyszenia Absolwentów Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Katowicach.
Złożenie tekstu do Redakcji jest równoznaczne z wyrażeniem zgody na udostępnianie tegoż tekstu wraz z metadanymi na warunkach licencji Creative Commons Uznanie autorstwa-Na tych samych warunkach 4.0 Międzynarodowe.

This thematic issue of Romanica Silesiana is devoted to representations of motherhood and non-motherhood in Francophone literatures. Contributions may address, among other topics, experiences of becoming a mother, identity and bodily transformations associated with motherhood, mother–child relationships, maternal mental health, voluntary childlessness, infertility, and reproductive loss. These issues may be explored through a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches, including feminist, intersectional, psychoanalytic, decolonial, and ecocritical perspectives. Proposals (an abstract of approximately 300 words accompanied by a brief bio-bibliographical note) should be submitted by 30 September 2026.

Obiettivi del numero
Il numero monografico intende esplorare il romanzo italiano come dispositivo affettivo-cognitivo, capace di articolare l’esperienza umana attraverso specifiche configurazioni narrative, stilistiche e formali. L’obiettivo è mostrare come la narrazione letteraria non si limiti a rappresentare emozioni e stati mentali, ma contribuisca attivamente a modellare l’esperienza, a strutturare l’empatia e a rendere condivisibili vissuti complessi, spesso legati a crisi, discontinuità e trasformazioni del soggetto. Il numero mira inoltre a favorire un confronto metodologicamente rigoroso tra approcci letterari e modelli provenienti dalle scienze cognitive e neuroscientifiche.

In the current reality of the post-pandemic Covid-19 world, the health, climate, economic and military crises, forced migration, neocolonialism and horrific wars, many people are reported to have suffered from post-traumatic stress. With its past and current wounds and traumas, the world appears to be a place that needs urgent healing. The concepts of care, including self-care, and well-being of others and oneself, which are central for many cultures, turned out to be important keywords of our time. We propose a discussion on these concepts with a specific focus on Indigenous, Black, Eastern European and other diasporic perspectives to be examined in the context of the mainstream settler culture of English-speaking and French-speaking Canada.
As part of the English issue of the journal Romanica Silesiana (No. 2/2026), we propose a discussion on the concepts of healing, well-being, and care in Canada, with a special focus on Indigenous, Black, Eastern European and other diasporic perspectives. We especially invite analyses that are attuned to the labor of care as expressed differently across specific minority histories and geographies in English-speaking and French-speaking Canada. Interdisciplinary perspectives are highly encouraged. We also welcome submissions from graduate students at any stage of their research.
