Prawne Problemy Górnictwa i Ochrony Środowiska [title in English: "Legal Issues of Mining and Environmental Protection"] is a scientific journal issued by the University of Silesia in Katowice. The journal publishes the results of research in the field of widely understood environmental protection law, including, inter alia, geological and mining law, water law, nature protection law, air protection law, climate protection law, and international environmental law. 

The aim of the journal is to provide a comprehensive forum for publishing achievements and exchanging scientific ideas. This cooperation aims at presenting the latest achievements, and environmental initiatives, becoming a field for joint research, resulting in various de lege ferenda proposals. PPGIOS is a peer-reviewed, fully open-access online journal, that publishes semi-annual scientific materials (papers, glosses).

The periodical is addressed to a wide range of authors (both practitioners and theorists, both for academics and Ph.D. candidates and students) and recipients interested in the subject matter.
