"Prawne Problemy Górnictwa i Ochrony Środowiska" (PPGiOŚ) [title in English:  "Legal Issues in Mining and Environmental Protection") continues the tradition of Prawne Problemy Górnictwa [Legal Problems of Mining], the last issue of which was published in 1995 and whose editorial work was carried out by members of the Department of Mining and Environmental Law.

The Journal provides a forum for scholarly exchange and the sharing of practical experience among researchers and practitioners engaged in the broad field of environmental law. The primary criteria for publication are the scientific merit of a submission and its consistency with the Journal’s profile and scope.

Since Issue 2/2026, the Journal has published articles exclusively in English in order to foster international scholarly cooperation and to enhance the accessibility of research findings to the global academic community.

The Journal is included in the official list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed conference proceedings announced by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Poland in the Communication of 5 January 2024, with an assigned score of 40 points.
