The article presents reports of the Polish press on the elections (from the election campaign to post-election comments) in the curia of rural communes to the Vienna State Council in 1879 and the religious split in the Polish national movement that took place during the election campaign as a result of the disagreement between the movement's factions regarding the planned candidacy. In a broader context, apart from presenting the attitude of the Polish press to the elections and the conflict within the Polish party, the article also shows the degree of interest and recognition of the press from various parts of Poland in the subject of the political situation in Cieszyn Silesia. The main purpose of the article was to analyze the sources. From this analysis, a narrative emerged about the course of the election campaign, elections and the split in the Polish national movement.

The subject of interest is the collection of pilgrim songs from the turn of 19th and 20th centuries, printed by Teofil Nowacki's publishing house in Piekary. Author analyses one of Upper Silesian pilgrim songs collections from the second half of 19th century, taking into consideration circumstances of its creation and the impact of mentioned songs on both parish ministry and individual piety. 

The present study complements the existing knowledge about the exile of the bishops of Katowice in the years 1952 – 56. Based on unknown  materials from the archives of the Vatican Secretariat of State, the author presents mechanisms of receiving information about the situation in Silesia at a time when official means of communication were difficult and controlled by the communist authorities.

He reveals to the readers the backstage of the actions taken by the Holy See in relation to the chapter curates imposed by the communist authorities. We learn about the exceptional role of bishop Józef Gawlina in these events.

She was an English teacher at the Higher School of Economics in Katowice, the University of Warsaw and the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw for over half a century (1951-2003). Initially, she tried to work creatively in the field of applied linguistics. However, she became famous as an author and translator of religious literature, directing her own works and numerous translations from English and French into supporting the charismatic renewal movement, promoting the work of Saint Teresa of Lisieux and Blessed Charles de Foucauld, whose idea of ​​"little brothers" was supported by establishing and leading Fraterni Jesus Caritas in Poland. Her achievements and attitude are significant for modern Catholicism, which is why they are worth reminding, disseminating and imitating.

When Martin Luther wrote about Mary, he first of all called her the Mother of the Savior. It was the most important thing he could think of her. Is that all he has to write about her? It seems not because, He sets Mary as a model of behavior. This leading aspect is emphasized in the reflections on the Mother of the Lord. Her role is actually reduced to that of being the Mother of the Savior. However, Martin Luther notices the dignity, the grandeur of her conduct. He shows it as an example worth imitating by people.
We find no mention of the example of Mary's conduct in the Catechisms of Luther. Instead, we will focus on the sermons of Martin Luther collected in a domestic posture from 1530-1534 and the "Commentary on the Magnificat". These two works of the Reformer are a treasure trove of Mary's actions. This procedure is shown by means of examples.

Documents published by Pope Francis are theological texts in the full meaning of the word. Francis writes in the first person. It is not only a rhetorical figure, but also an evidence of his “authorship” of the texts. This article seeks to present Francis’s concept of theology. His theology builds on faith, which is prior to any form of reasoning. Reasoning, including theology, is merely a servant of faith: a servant that always remains outside the mystery of faith, or the encounter of a human being with God. Therefore, the first two parts of the article are devoted to Francis’s perception of faith.

The transmission of faith, or evangelization, takes place in the proclamation of the kerygma. Here also, theology plays an ancillary role. The Church lives in the world, and that determines the tasks of theology: seeking an answer to the question about what it means to be a Christian here and now. Thus, theology should study various aspects of our existence, and particularly various cultures, in the light of faith. Francis, however, distances himself from liaising theology with modern sciences.

Francis’s recognition of the primacy of God’s grace leads him to an emphasis on the significance of dialogue in the study of theology. It is interesting how Francis perceives the role of the Magisterium of the Church: it is ancillary not only to faith, but, to a certain degree, also to theology. Moreover, as it turns out, theology understood in such a way draws richly from the works of modern philosophy: existentialism and the related philosophy of dialogue.

The 150th anniversary of the consecration of the Parish of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist in Ruda Śląska Godula falling on 14 November 2021, offers a chance to dive into the previously unrevealed pages of the parish history. Until 1958, as many as ten calls to the priesthood were discovered in the parish. Priests born or raised in Godula became members of the clergy in five dioceses and two religious congregations. The author reviewed the parish chronicles and the records within the archives of the Parish of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist in Ruda Śląska Godula. The research findings, supported by modern studies, portray priests from the Godula parish, in order of ordination.

It seems that modern society does not need to be convinced of the need to educate young generations, especially the need for moral education. Observing the customs that are made more specific in social and family life, one can notice its serious deficit. The dignity of human life is not only a social-moral value, but should be the basis of every educational process.

This article says that it is up to parents to raise the young generation toward values. The text deals with the subject of the dignity of human life, because the concern for young citizens should begin in the prenatal period, which confirms the position of the Catholic Church. Author presents argument that the family is the basic place of raising children. In conclusion, the text says directly to what values the young generation should be brought up.
