“Wieki Stare I Nowe” (Eng. trans. "The Old and the New Ages”) appears as a yearbook of the Institute of History of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Articles published in it cover Polish and general history from antiquity to the most recent times. Original research into borderland issues is preferred. The journal is divided into the following sections: Articles, Review articles and Reviews. All the articles that appear in the pages of “Wieki Stare i Nowe” are peer-reviewed. They also have English summaries.
