Abstract

The text is a review of Aleksandra Ubertowska’s book, Historie biotyczne. Pomiędzy estetyką a geotraumą [Biotic histories. Between aesthetics and geotrauma]. The starting point becomes the biocentric lens applied by the researcher and the geostory behind it. Equally interesting and important are the possibilities of ecocritical theories in interpretation and their application in the Polish ground.

Katarzyna Koza – PhD candidate at the University of Wrocław, at the Department of the History of Polish Literature after 1918; co-founder of the Research Group of Cultural Theories of Contemporary Humanities affiliated with the Institute of Polish Philology. She is working on a dissertation on the languages of contemporary ecopoetry.
