The article uses the example of Kevin Warwick’s robot with the living brain (Robot Gordon) to review the phenomenon of brain organoids creation, one of the applications of which is to replace animals in neurological experiments. However, in this context the question whether it is possible to compare brain and non-cerebral organoids (organ-on-chip) arises. The author thinks that use of an isolated brain is dangerous from the ethical point of view. Along with the progress of technology, laboratory brain organoids are going to become more sophisticated, which can lead to the creation of a conscious subject which suffering will go unnoticed.
