This study analyzes self-concept in individuals with aphasia across six key dimensions of psychosocial functioning. The research sample included 40 respondents with diagnosed aphasia who were evaluated using a standardized Self-Concept Questionnaire. Results reveal a differentiated self-concept profile with the lowest values in the area of meaning and self-realization (only 10% of respondents achieved above-average values), while relatively higher values were recorded in dimensions of social adaptability and anxiety resistance. Analysis of value distribution across individual dimensions shows a predominance of average values, suggesting potential for targeted intervention. The study overcomes methodological limitations of previous research by using a multidimensional approach to self-concept assessment and identifies specific areas requiring increased attention in the rehabilitation process.

The article presents a neurologist’s perspective on prematurity, which is associated with various consequences that manifest themselves in later development. Preterm birth is not only a shorter pregnancy, a smaller newborn, but most importantly, it is a tremendous consequence in the child’s development and challenges for the infant’s family. It involves the child’s illnesses, more frequent visits to various specialists, difficulties in caring for such a tiny baby, but also the need to monitor the development of primitive functions and language and cognitive skills. The authors point out that, depending on the measures taken to minimize certain primordial disorders and the timing of their application, it is possible to meet children from premature births who need only stimulation of their development, but there are also those who, without systemic therapy, cannot find their way into the educational process.

This article is a review, its main goal is to investigate the current state of knowledge regarding word meaning understanding by individuals with autism. Issues of reference, scope (denotation), meaning structure, semantic features, and ambiguity are discussed. The analysis revealed that people with ASD have skills developed to varying degrees that allow them to acquire and use words. At the same time, certain aspects of meaning and explicit word knowledge may be limited to varying degrees. Interpreting the results of research on the semantic-lexical skills of individuals with ASD requires caution, taking into account the specificity of the subject and object of the study, the theoretical foundations, methodological considerations, and the research context. Further research on word comprehension by individuals with ASD is needed. Speech therapy assessment of individuals with ASD must take semantic-lexical skills into account. Effective therapeutic interventions should aim to improve word meaning understanding, tailored to individual needs, which requires implementing approaches, methods, and strategies that allowing the development of meaning in all its relevant dimensions.

The basis of the disorders characteristic of Dravet syndrome is the occurrence of a genetic mutation within: SCN1A, SCN9A, SCN2B, PCDH19, GABRG2, GABRA1 or STXBP1 genes, resulting in encephalopathy, the symptom of these abnormalities is drug-resistant epilepsy. As a result of a combination of factors such as: damage to the central nervous system, intellectual disability, and severe epilepsy that begins in infancy, people with Dravet syndrome experience a regression of acquired skills following a short period of normative development. These regressions include communication, cognitive deficits and abnormalities in motor development. Cognitive and motor deficits are important indicators or multidisciplinary therapy enabling developmental progress, compensation of impaired functions, and the development of functioning strategies that will allow achieving optimal quality of life despite fluctuations in the intensity of symptoms of drug-resistant epilepsy.

The article presents a case study of a 24-year-old woman with left-sided spastic hemiplegia, in whose diagnosis non-standard methods and research tools typically used for assessing functional speech disorders were applied. The aim was to provide a detailed description of the individual characteristics of the case, emphasize the unique nature of CP, and demonstrate the necessity of adopting an individualized diagnostic approach. The study also highlights the need to move away from the erroneous identification of CP exclusively with dysarthric disorders.

The article presents a case study of a patient with functional hyperfunctional dysphonia. Referring to the subject literature, it characterizes the definition of hyperfunctional dysphonia and describes the biomechanics of the vocal tract. The importance of collaboration within an interdisciplinary team is highlighted. The vocal characteristics of a patient with hyperfunctional dysphonia are specified. An example of a neurologopedic rehabilitation plan is presented, which includes manual laryngeal therapy and LAX VOX therapy. A comparison is made between the initial examination results and the results after 4 months of speech therapy rehabilitation to assess the effectiveness of the undertaken rehabilitation actions.
