Archives of Silesian Music Culture alongside the Library of the Academy of Music Karol Szymanowski in Katowice was founded in 1968, in order to fill the void concerning documentation of old and contemporary musical culture of the region of Silesia. It aims at gathering, compiling and making manuscripts and musical prints available to scholars and students. The very existence of the Archive contributed to enriching our awareness of the past of the musical life of Silesia region. The ever-growing collection of the Archive might be easily used by music institutions, artists as well as all those who have academic interest in the field of musical culture of this geographically diverse region. The article presents the history of the creation of this place, the specifics of the collection and presents plans for the future that will allow the Archive to appear in the minds of not only the nearest region or country, but also on the international arena.

The article presents the workshop of a contemporary teacher of a primary and secondary music school librarian. The attention was paid to open educational resources useful in the daily work of music librarians. Digital libraries and educational websites dealing with issues related to classical music, providing music prints and lesson scenarios were indicated. The legal basis for the functioning of school libraries was also discussed.

The article discusses special services of the County and Muncipial “Biblioteka pod Atlantami” Library in Wałbrzych not only addressed to special user groups. It describes the audiobook section created mainly for blind and partially sighted people. Particular attention is paid to it soffer and the specificity of the collection. It describes the cooperation of the Library’s Regional Workshop with Dr Alfred Sokolowski Specialist Hospital in Wałbrzych mainly based on regional education courses for patients. The article also discusses the use of Action Track Application that is used to create mobile games which are supposed to entourage children, adolescents and adults to visit the library. Examples of games promoting the region are also presented.

The article discusses the offer of activities for children and youth in libraries. The websites of 42 public libraries from the Silesian Voivodeship were subjected to the examination. Forms of work with a child reader were presented. Types of library classes have been distinguished. Examples of activities are included in the article.

The article presents an analysis of the handwritten journal for children “Zorza Polska. Miesięcznik dla Dzieci,” kept in the collection of the Silesian Library in Katowice (reference number R 1416 III). The creator of the magazine was Kazimierz Wallis (1896–1918), son of Łukasz Wallis (1863–1940), a well-known collector
of Silesian folk songs. In the 22 issues, created between October 1909 and January 1912, he published works of his own authorship – stories, poems (a few translated by himself), descriptions, anecdotes, jokes, rebuses, golden thoughts, and drawings. The journal was most likely bound by the Wallis. At the end of the volume, cards of dark, thicker paper were added, on which 28 drawings by Kazimierz were glued. Some of them were created during his service in the German army during World War I. Kazimierz Wallis was lost on September 27, 1918 in the battle of Havrincourt near Arras in the Pas-de-Calais department.

The aim of the article is to show the history and collections of the Zakład im. Ossolińskich in the years 1817–1939. By means of the analysis of the preserved documents and the existing literature on the subject, an attempt was made not only to show the history of the institution, selected collections from the library’s resources, but also to present its organization and people who have passed through its walls over the past 120 years. This is all the more important as, unlike many other Polish libraries, the complete history of the Ossolineum has never been written. The reason for this situation was that after 1945 almost all archives that could be used to learn about the history of the Institute remained in Lviv, and access to them was very difficult for Polish researchers, and sometimes even impossible. This situation began to change slowly after 1989. It was then that smaller or larger contributions were written about the history of the Ossolineum. Only recently, broader publications showing various aspects of the functioning of the Ossoliński National Institute. According to the founder’s intention, the institution, consisting of a library, publishing house and museum, was to not only collect various types of prints, manuscripts, works of art, but also make its collections available to all interested parties. The starting date of the article was determined by the establishment of the Institute, which took place in 1817. The founder spent several years considering where the institution would have its seat. Ultimately, after his death in 1827, the collections collected by Józef Maksymilian Ossoliński were transported to Lviv and placed in the rebuilt former church and convent of Carmelite sisters. It was then that the collections collected by the Lubomirski family from Przeworsk were finally added to the Ossolineum. Over a period of over 100 years, numerous manuscripts, archives, books, magazines and works of art have been added to the collection of the Ossolineum. The end date of the presented article is set in 1939. The outbreak of World War II began a new dramatic period in the history of the Ossolineum, which ended with its transfer to Wrocław in 1945.

At the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century, when the world stopped because of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, COVID-19-related information resources dominated the news on the web. The pandemic highlighted the opportunities used by publishers in the process of publishing and disseminating digital scientific resources. The aim of the paper is to recognize the offer of open scientific resources about COVID-19 on the websites of the libraries at the Polish universities of technology. The analysis of the data shows that not only scientific and governmental institutions but also financial institutions, associations, publishers, researchers and journals make scientific resources related to coronavirus available free of charge. Open scientific resources available in different ways in different projects have been separated by publishers from journals, books, archive databases and in the news section, in thematic blocks in their own and foreign resources. The offer is enhanced by audio and video recordings, intelligent tools for delivering, archiving and distributing online content and links to countless public sources.

In this article, the modern typology of the organization by Frederic Laloux shall be described, with a particular emphasis on the properties of Teal organizations. Based on the experiences of selected Polish companies within the services and industrial sectors, the original concept of Teal paradigms implementation is described. Factors favoring changes in the library and staff management are described, as well as the stages of their implementation.
