RUSSIAN EMIGRATION IN FRANCE Š REALITY AND MYTHS(FROM THE END OF THE XIXTH CENTURYTO THE WHITE EMIGRATION IN THE INTER-WAR PERIOD)

Summary

This article presents the features of Russian emigration in France from the end of the XIXthcentury to the inter-war period and puts emphasis on a€fact of distinction between French realityand Russian myths concerning the same time. For example, some researchers note the overstate-ment in Russian emigrants™ opinion about the deficiency in the cultural contacts with French elitesand lack of their influence on Russian literary creativity. Others consider that Russia abroad is themyth too, by reason of the absence of basic social Russian stratum - the peasants - in France.Many researchers raise doubts concerning statistical data and too hagiographic character of some Russian authors publications.

THE CONCEPT OF LOVE AND HOMOEROTIC MOTIFSIN THE WRITINGS OF MIKHAIL KUZMI N AND KAROL SZYMANOWSKI

Summary

The article compares the themes of love and eroticism in the works of Mikhail Kuzmin and KarolSzymanowski, an outstanding Polish composer and amateur writer. In Szymanowski™s major workof literature Ephebos there are similarities to Kuzmin™s work that cannot always be attributed toboth artists™ homosexual orientation, and that are not limited to the erotic themes. Given the presen-ce of references to Plato™s philosophy, the image of wings, as well as thematic references to antiqu-ity and Byzantium in the work of both writers, we can hypothesize that Szymanowski was familiarwith Kuzmin™s writing.

Streszczenie

Artykuł stanowi analizę poematu Josifa Brodskiego Представление, wydanego w formie ilustrowanej zdjeciami Olega Smirnowa, rosyjskiego korespondenta wojennego. Autorka traktuje utwór jako — foto-tekst, w którym strona werbalna i obrazowa dopełniają się wzajemnie, tworząc nową jakość estetyczną i generując nowe znaczenia i interpretacje tekstu, pojmowanego jako całość. Obejmując stylistyczne i intertekstualne konteksty poematu (Błok, Majakowski, Achmatowa,Puszkin), analiza prowadzi do wniosków o dialogicznym charakterze tekstu, w którym, w omawianej formie —fototekstuf, strona plastyczna (fotografie) wchodzi w dialog z warstwą werbalna (tekst poematu). Zdjęcia, których znakomita wiekszość jest poświęcona konfliktom zbrojnym z udziałem ZSSR i Rosji, nadają enigmatycznemu tekstowi znaczenie antywojenne i antyimperialne, pozwalając na jego interpretację w kategoriach badań postkolonialnych.

POETYKA MIKROPOWIŚCI W TWÓRCZOŚCI JURIJA DRUŻNIKOWA

Streszczenie

W artykule przeprowadzona została analiza mikropowieści w literaturze rosyjskiej XX wieku, warunki powstania gatunku i miejsce w systemie gatunków epickich. Określając gatunkowy paradygmat mikropowieści, autorka zwraca szczególną uwagę na odmienność mikropowieści od noweli. Teoretyczna refleksja genologiczna ilustrowana jest utworami rosyjskiego pisarza emigracyjnego Jurija Drużnikowa.

THE GENRE POETICS OF THE MICRONOVELIN LITERARY WORKS OF YURI DRUZHNIKOV

The article considers the sources of the micronovel in the Russian literature, the conditions of itsdevelopment in the 20-th century literature and its place in the epic genres system. The authorhighlightes the difference between the micronovel and novella, defines the genre paradigm. BIBLIOGRAPHY OF POLISH-RUSSIAN AND RUSSIAN-POLISHDICTIONARY WORKSOF THE PERIOD 1990-2005

Summary

For the first time in Polish lexicography author describes Polish-Russian and Russian-Polishdictionary works of the period 1990Œ2005. The dictionaries are arranged according to the chrono-logical and alphabetical principles. The index is the first experience of systematizing lexicographi-cal works and is the part of complete bibliography Russian Language in the Polish Lexicography.

ON THE EXPRESSIONS OF COMPARISONIN THE FUNCTION OF SPATIAL MEASUREMENT FEATURES(ON POLISH AND RUSSIAN MATERIAL)

Summary

The article discusses fixed expressions of comparison where the basis of comparison are thespatial measurement adjectives pertaining parts of human body.The aim of the article is to:1) find out which spatial measurement adjectives may become the basis of comparison in descri-bed expressions,2) find out what can be the subject of comparison in given spatial measurement adjectives,3) determine the classes of objects of comparison that appear in fixed expressions of the typebeing described.

ZOOMORPHICAL METAPHORS DENOTING HUMAN BEINGSIN POLISH, RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH

Summary

The article discusses sentences containing zoomorphical metaphors denoting human beings inpredicate function in Polish, Russian and English. The sentences are of a type "Jesteś świnia (-ą), "Ты свинья", "You are apig". The metaphor-predicate ascribes the subject (hidden or expressedby a€noun or a€pronoun) with some non-typical feature. It occurs to be a€very important way oftransmitting subjective evaluation of a€human being it denotes.

WORD ORDER IN RUSSIAN AND SPANISH: CONTRASTIVE ANALYSISFROM THE TYPOLOGICAL, FUNCTIONAL AND GENERATIVE PERSPECTIVES

Summary

In this article word order (WO) in Russian and Spanish is compared from three theoretical posi-tions: language typology, functional sentence perspective and generative grammar. WO is seen interms of basic constituents in a simple sentence, as well as in a phrase. The tridimensional analysisrealized in this work made it possible to reveal both similarities and differences between the languages contrasted in relation to WO. Thus, typological comparison allows to observe a great analogybetween the two languages: both belong to a group of SVO languages and both have pragmaticWO. WO treatment within the functional framework also points out similarities between the langu-ages considered. Finally, the application of universal grammar in terms of principles and parame-ters contributes to extend the analysis scope and determine not only similarities between them (withrespect to the head parameter), but also some significant differences (in relation to the null subjectparameter). Thus, the use of three perspectives in this work enabled us to describe more fullya€complex, contradictory character of the phenomenon under analysis and explain some peculiarities of its functioning in Russian and Spanish.
