BIBLIOGRAPHY of TRANSLATIONS of SLAVIC LITERATURES (2018)

Volume 10 Part 2 is another presentation of the tenth bibliography of translations of Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Macedonian, Serbian, Slovak and Slovenian Slavic literatures into Polish, and of Polish literature into Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Macedonian, Serbian, Slovak and Slovenian. It brings together publications published especially in 2018, but not only. Both the bibliographic listings and the accompanying commentaries confirm once again that translations from Slavic languages are important, continue to emerge, are of interest to readers, critics and researchers, but are also characterized by their own dynamics and subject to different tendencies than translations from a hyper-centric language, as English has been recognized, or centrist languages (French, German). In the articles, the authors try to outline the situation of South and West Slavic translations in the changing social and conjunctural conditions, indicate the trajectories of the reception of these literatures in the secular receiving circle, the dynamics of mutual contacts between West and South Slavs and the factors that influence it.n the issue, among other things, about: the reception of translations; the roles, cognitive passions, and choices of translators; multilingual editions; gonzo translation; translation of neologisms and archaisms; translator's footnotes; translation of drama and its staging potential; the political context of translation. And also about translations of works by Georgi Gospodinov, Dorota Jagić, Drago Jančar, Stanislaw Lem, Czesław Miłosz, Ziemowit Szczerek, Olga Tokarczuk, among others. The volume is addressed to literary scholars, translation scholars and comparatists (scientists, critics, students).
